Tricia's Art
Born in Yorkshire, England, Tricia Hardie has spent her life in various parts of the world, mainly Africa and the Middle East. The UAE was her home for 18 years - Al Ain for the first 10 years and then Dubai. Now based in Ilkley,
West Yorkshire, UK.
"Although interested in many arts and crafts, I developed a passion for watercolour in 1996. As my confidence grew, I joined the Dubai International Arts Centre (DIAC) in 1998, where I took classes in watercolour, pastel, acrylic, inks and mixed media."
Tricia has a certificate from the Open College of the Arts and has taken a number of courses in the UK with leading British artists including Mike Chaplin, Debra Manifold, Ken Paine, Margaret Evans, Judy Linnell and Ann Blockley.
Tricia has exhibited in a number of exhibitions with DIAC. During her first major members' exhibition at Wafi in November 1999, she was commissioned to paint six large watercolours for a leading hotel in Dubai. Over the past few years a number of her paintings have been chosen by Al Noor and Al Greetings for charity cards.
